Arrest at Seme Border
Bobrisky’s recent troubles began on October 21, 2024, when he was apprehended at the Seme border while attempting to cross into Benin. Reports indicate that he arrived in a black SUV around 1:30 a.m. but was stopped by immigration officials who recognized him during routine checks
The NIS later confirmed that Bobrisky was being held as a person of interest in a broader investigation. He remained in custody for several hours before being released

Bobrisky returns, looking ahead
Bobrisky returns to face new legal challenges and even the ones he tried to run away from. An investigative panel recently indicted several prison officers for alleged misconduct during Bobrisky’s previous imprisonment. The cross-dresser was in prison from April to August 2024.
An audio released by VDM recently generated a controversy over Bobrisky’s tenure in prison. It was alleged that he did not spend his time inside prison and enjoyed certain privileges. Some prison officials were suspended. The MInistry of Interior promptly set up a panel to investigate the matter.
The findings sparked discussions about human rights, especially concerning the treatment of transgender and crossdressing individuals within the Nigerian legal system.
