An image of an athletic looking man representing controversial. He has just revealed that his claim that money was stolen from his NGO's account was a hoax. That has made some fans to say VDM 'stole the NGO's money, just to prank Nigerians.

Few days after reportedly buying N100 million Jeep, controversial activist, Martins Otse (VDM), has raised alarm. He claimed on Friday that N160 million was missing from his NGO’s account. This has sparked widespread speculation about the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft.

In a recent post, Otse alleged that someone hacked into his NGO’s account, resulting in the massive loss. He revealed that after the breach, the thief syphoned N180 million  into an unknown account. According to VDM, the security agents have arrested a suspect and investigations are underway to track the missing funds.

The N160 million stolen claim comes in the midst of ongoing controversies surrounding VDM. Over the past few months, VDM has attracted both admiration and criticism for his outspoken activism. His recent NGO initiative attracted significant funds, with over N35 million donated in just a few hours.

Soon after the initiative’s launch, VDM announced a generous N100 million contribution from popular music producer, Don Jazzy. The combination drew attention to VDM’s financial management and transparency.

N160 million missing amid allegations of mismanagement

VDM confirmed that after someone moved N160 million, only N20 million remains in the account. As part of the security measures, the account is now on “Post No Debit” (PND) status, and the NGO’s app temporarily shut down for maintenance.

Many of VDM’s supporters have expressed concern. They are calling for a thorough investigation to identify those responsible for the theft. “We stand by VDM,” one supporter commented, “and we want the truth about the N160 million stolen to be uncovered.”

While VDM’s fans have rallied around him, many critics are raising questions about the timing of the alleged theft. Some have pointed out that VDM’s lavish purchase of a N100 million jeep, followed closely by the claim of the missing money, seems suspicious. Critics argue that the two events might be connected.

“How can you explain spending N100 million on a car while claiming N160 million was stolen?” one critic asked on social media. “Something doesn’t add up, and this smells like foul play.”

However, VDM’s supporters have remained vocal in defending his integrity. They argue that cybercrimes are prevalent and that VDM should not be blamed for the actions of hackers. Some believe that the N160 million theft is a targeted attack on his foundation and that he is a victim of circumstances.

VDM has promised to keep the public updated as the investigation into the missing N160 million progresses. According to him, they are heading to Jos to recover the missing funds. He also said that the arrested suspect would help trace the culprits behind the cyber attack.
