Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has suspended Auwalu Danladi Sankara, the State Commissioner of Special Duties. This action follows an adultery allegation from Hisbah Kano. The government aims to investigate these claims thoroughly.

A five-member panel will probe the adultery allegation against Sankara. Bala Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government, will lead this committee. Other members include commissioners for Information and Basic Education, along with the governor’s special adviser on security.

Official reaction over adultery allegation

Government said the suspension allows for a comprehensive investigation into the adultery allegation. The SSG, in a statement, emphasized the need for transparency and integrity within the state administration. “The suspension is a precautionary measure intended to facilitate a fair investigation,” he said.

The SSG expressed concern over media reports related to the adultery allegation. “The reports have caused significant embarrassment and degradation to the reputation of the State Government,” he noted. The state government feels compelled to investigate the authenticity of these allegations.

Commissioner’s defense

The embattled commissioner has denied the adultery allegation, labeling it a political attack. “These allegations are entirely false, baseless, and malicious,” he stated.

“I wish to categorically state that these allegations are entirely false, baseless, and malicious, aimed at tarnishing my reputation. I urge the general public to disregard this fabricated story, which has been concocted by certain political elements to damage my character and integrity.

“As a married man, I have the utmost respect for the institution of marriage and would never engage in actions that violate its sanctity. I remain committed to upholding the values and principles that I stand for.

“I am taking this matter seriously and will pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading this false information and attempting to cause harm to my person,” he submitted.
