Bobrisky ignores Falana  and Falz as the 12-hours dateline for his apology expires. Now, the nation awaits the consequences.

Idris  Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has ignored Femi Falana, SAN. Falana and is son, Folarin (Falz), gave Bobrisky 12 hours to apologise over a controversial audio recording. They claimed the recording, made pubic recently by Martins Otse (VDM), defamed them.

The audio surfaced last month. In it, Bobrisky reportedly claimed he gave the Falanas N10 million for a presidential pardon related to his conviction.

Why Bobrisky ignores Falana

However, Bobrisky denies defaming the Falanas. He said anyone claiming defamation should pursue the publisher, not him. He rejects the voice in the recording as his. Bobrisky also insists that he did not publish any defamatory statements. “The person that published an audio online should take full responsibility for what he posted in public,” he said.

On his Instagram page, the cross-dresser equally denied giving the Falanas any money. “I, Okuneye Idris, aka Bobrisky, didn’t give Falz or his dad any money for pardon. As a matter of fact, no penny was given to them.”

N10m claim for pardon

On October 16, reports surfaced that Falana and his son, Falz, demanded a public apology from Bobrisky. They asked for a retraction of statements made by Bobrisky. In one recording, Bobrisky claimed he spoke with Falz. He allegedly requested Falz’s help in persuading his father, Falana, to secure a presidential pardon.

Bobrisky alleged that the pardon letter cost N10 million. He further claimed he asked Falz for N3 million for special treatment at Kirikiri Correctional Centre. In another audio, Bobrisky stated he paid N5 million upfront to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. This payment was part of his efforts to secure a Federal Government pardon.

Legal Consequences as Bobrisky ignores Falana
On October 14, 2024, Falana’s legal representatives accused Bobrisky of making false statements. They claimed these statements misrepresented the Falanas’ involvement in the alleged bribery. The legal team described Bobrisky’s claims as unfounded and damaging. They demanded a full retraction and public apology across all platforms.

The letter detailed specific allegations made by Bobrisky. “You took advantage of your recent imprisonment to extort money,” it said. The legal team asserted that no such conversation had ever occurred. Bobrisky’s claims aimed to extort money while tarnishing Falana’s reputation.

The likely consequences as Bobrisky ignores Falana will be full legal fireworks. As the dateline expires, the nation awaits the next action.
